Composer, conductor and violinist, he studied in Arezzo and Florence. He studied at the Fiesole Music School, the Academia Chigiana (Siena) and the Accademia di Francia (Rome). He studied composition with Pasqual Dusapin, Ennio Morricone, Rosario Mirigliano, Romano Pezzati, Camillo Togni, Azio Corghi; he studied conducting with Rinaldo Alessandrini, René Clemencic, Ottavio Dantone, Diego Fasolis, Roberto Gabbiani, Gary Graden, Carl Høgset, Peter Neuman. As choir conductor he won first prize (category choirs conductor) and first prize (category children's choral conductor) at the IV International Competition for choir conductors "Mariele Ventre" in Bologna (2007).
He has received commissions from prestigious international musical organizations and institutions and has won important first prizes in the composition competitions of Arezzo (1999), Avellino (2000), Gorizia (1999-2003), Rome (1999) and Vittorio Veneto (2005). Many of her works are performed in the most important choral festivals and competitions such as the Florilege Vocal de Tours, the Varna International Competition, the Taipei Choral Festival, the Bali International Competition, the Certamen Coral de Tolosa. He has conducted prestigious orchestras such as the Orchestra della Toscana, the Camerata di Prato, the Galilei Orchestra, the Vivaldi Orchestra, the Brutia Symphony Orchestra and the Trento Conservatory Orchestra. He conducts prestigious choirs and vocal groups: Insieme Vocale Vox Cordis (from 1997), UT Insieme Vocale Consonante (from 2014), Coro Giovanile Italiano (2011-2015), Hesperimenta Vocal Ensemble (1996-2011). With these groups you have won first prizes and special prizes in many national and international competitions such as Arezzo, Cantonigròs, Gorizia, Montreux, Senlis, Tours, Varna, Vittorio Veneto. In 2016, with the UT ensemble, you also won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing, considered the most prestigious choral award in the world. From 2016 he is the conductor of the professional choir Coro della Cattedrale di Siena Guido Chigi Saracini and he conduct important professional choirs like: Eurochoir (2016 an 2017), Devlet Çoksesli Korosu (Turkish State Choir), Zbor Slovenske Filharmonije (Slovenian Philarmonic Choir). He gives concerts and seminars in many country: China, France, Greece, Indonesia, Russia, Suisse, Hungary, Taiwan, Turkey... His compositions are being performed by ensembles as well as soloists around the world and have been published by many publishing houses. His choral works were asked and/or performed by the Choir of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Coro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Coro Giovanile Italiano, Joyfull Company of Londen, St. Jacobs Chamber Choir from Stockholm, Philippine Madrigal Singers from manila and many others choirs. He won notable awards in international competitions such as Arezzo (1996 e 1999), Gorizia (1999 e 2002), Rom (1999), Avellino (2003), Vittorio Veneto (2007). He publishes with Pizzicato Verlag, Carus Verlag and others. As artistic director he collaborates and has collaborated with various national cultural institutions such the national project "Voci d'Italia" and the International "Incontro Polifonico Città di Fano". He is a professor at the Conservatorio “B. Marcello” in Venice, teaches at the Chigiana Summer Academy in Siena and at the Accademia Corale Italiana. Invited as a member of the jury in the most important international choral music and composition competitions, he holds seminars and courses in numerous locations in Europe and other continents. |
